Ans: Paraphenylediaamine (PPD) is the main colour giving chemical in most of (98%) of the Chemical hair dyes including most of the big brands.

It is popular as hair dye because it is a permanent hair dye that gives Natural Look. Hair can be shampooed without becoming lighter.
Q: What are the allergies/reactions that PPD can cause?
Ans: Reaction caused by the use of hair dye in mild cases usually only involves dermatitis to the upper eyelids or the rims of the ears.
